I enjoyed the previous book, Broken Wings, and got this book as well. I had said that Broken Wings wasn't really a romance novel but felt like a prequel to a romance novel. This is supposed to be the romance novel of Rio and her soulmate Tajan/Eddie. They are both FBI agents and partners. Rio is being threatened and they are working on a case involving a poker tournament. We meet supporting characters (mainly other FBI agents and Rio's dad and her best friend).I never felt invested in any of these people. The writing in this book was not nearly as strong as the previous book. I kept thinking that maybe the author had spent a lot of time writing and re-writing and editing Broken Wings (her first book) and then rushed through this one. Additionally, and most annoyingly, Rio was a totally different person. Suppposedly, she is a competent, well-regarded FBI agent. She was certainly competent in the first book and I liked her a lot there. However, in this book everyone treats her like she can't handle some trouble and she goes along with it. It felt like she was a civilian rather than an FBI agent! I could POSSIBILY see her father treating her like this (he may be worried about his daughter); however, for other FBI agents to treat her like this and for her to accept it just seemed stupid. The author ended up falling into a stereotype that Rio needed Eddie to constantly "save" her and it just annoyed the heck out of me!

Vegas Baby Soul Searchers Series Book 2 edition by Sandra Edwards Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Love the suspense, action and romance. Who could ask for more? Star-crossed lovers try it again. Sandra is a very talented author, she knows how to keep the action going and draws you right into the story. I love Rio, she is strong, sassy and independent, Eddie is a smart, sensitive hunk. I can't wait for their story to continue.
Having read Broken Wings, which is a creative, sweet, and just a simply lovely book, I could not wait to read "Vegas Baby". However reading the book was a major let down. The book lacked all of the qualities of Broken Wings and if I didn't know better, I would have said that it was written by a totally different author. The general feel I got upon completing this book was that it was rushed. It lacked a coherent story line and was repetitive in many places. In the first few pages, the author creates a weak excuse for erasing Rio's memory of her previous life and her encounter with Tajan. The Rio that is then presented has little resemblance with the original character.
A MUST R-E-A-D!!!!
In my reviews I don't like to give any of the plot away -However I must say It's rare when a sequel is as "GOOD" as the Original, VAGAS BABY is EVERYTHING Broken Wings is (AND THEN SOME) it has just the right amount of
SASSY SEXY ROMANCE + MYSTERIOUS-SUSPENSE It will having you guessing all the way to the KICK-ASS END! I SOOOO LOVED IT! Can't wait for the next book in the Soul Searchers Series. -)

I liked the story but at parts it was a little confusing because it would change so quickly you were left saying "what just happened?" I wish that story would have completed it self still left you wanting to know what was going with rio and eddie.
this was a hard book to get thru. i enjoyed "broken wings" so much. i rushed to get this book. i even spent money, lol. i generally buy a book under a buck. that is how much i enjoyed the first book. what happened to rio? she was strong, smart, not emotional, tough. then, "vegas, baby", she becomes pathetic. she couldnt do anything herself, eddie was there to take care of her, always saving her, doing her thinking. she gets a letter and "looks like she might cry". he yells in her defense "she was shaking like a child". she became a totally weak and submissive person as she was hyped for being so tough, all thru the story. it was very hard for me to get thru the book.
and authors? a couple winks. well spread out. every other page, a person winking at another, only becomes obnoxious.
I would have to agree with others. The book did not tie in well with Book 1 of Soul Searchers. The author could easily have renamed the characters left out the prologue and it been a new book in itself. After reading the first book in the series and the prologue I was expecting this to be about Rio and her finding her soul mate with little memory of what had happened in book one. The author left me waiting throughout the book for her to weave the two stories together and that never happened.
For those who haven't read book one, I think that the book easily could stand on its own if the prologue was removed. I really feel this part of the book would confuse any reader.
In my opinion the book still was a good read and I am hoping that there might be a next book in the series that can tie it all in!
I would give this story 4 1/2 stars
To start off, I like that this book gave more details into Rio's life. It was interesting to find out more about her parents. Rio was stronger in book one, but she was alone. I like that when she met Eddie, she had someone to lean on and could be more vulnerable. There were some very interesting secondary characters in this book that added to the story. I especially liked Digger and Gabe. I'm fascinated with stalker stories and I I love a good "whodunit." I admit that I wanted to read more about Maggie and Tajan, but Rio's memories of her life as Maggie was erased so that she could move forward. The author did a great job letting their love live on.
I would recommend this story and look forward to reading more from this author.
