In Immortal 3 we are introduced to Annabelle, a powerful being with her own agenda. While she tries to stay to her own, she finds her future and her fate directly tied to the future of Tundra. Though the other characters of Immortal are present, this book belongs to Annabelle and Sonya, Annabelle's reluctant surrogate. I enjoyed Immortal just as much as the previous books and I'm anxiously awaiting the next book in the series. Ms. Jeffers continues to prove that she is a master of mixing genres, blending science fiction, horror, fantasy and history it a flavorful fictional gumbo. Read Immortal I and II then sit back and enjoy Immortal III.
I've just finished reading Valjeanne Jeffers' IMMORTAL III STEALER OF SOULS. Like the first IMMORTAL, and IMMORTAL II TIME OF LEGEND, Jeffers offers up a whole world of werewolves and demons, street gangs and drug addicts, drug rehab, political and social upheaval, revolution, and corporate overlords. But now she's added "soul stealers" into the mix -- vampires who not only drink blood but steal time from their victims. Add to all this some new and intriguing characters, plus demons, centaurs, mermen, merwomen, folks who "walk between the raindrops," and mirrors that are actually portals into other realities . . . well, you have more imagination, more characters, more plot, more theme, and more to offer in 183 pages than most novels I can think of. This series ROCKS!!!!! It has a definite street flavor and a 1960s feel with an ultra modern as well as futuristic sensibility. Valjeanne Jeffers is the real deal, and these novels are the real thing. Five-star rating, for the whole series.

Werewolves, time vampires, mysterious mirrors that may be portals to other worlds... This is an engaging novel of gritty urban fantasy and horror that encompasses multiple timelines, from the slavery plantations of the American South to a futuristic dystopia called Topaz, where the corporations have more power than the government and engage in a very different type of slavery. I had not read the first two novels in this series, but I found myself captivated by the characters and the storylines. I'm looking forward to reading Immortal #4.
